Personality
Before Death:
A wild child without the drugs and over drinking. Sure she'll smoke pot from time to time, but that is it. Although she had some shrums in England once.. Kaya is spoiled, and sometimes completely acts it, despite trying to hide it. She can tell the difference between bottled water and tap water. She's extremely sensitive to what is high quality and what isn't. It is almost a bit strange. It is however something that Kaya has worked on hiding.

Kaya has always been a bit of a wanderer, sometimes labeled a loner by strangers for the pure fact that she enjoys doing things alone. There is something relaxing about taking a walk alone the city and finding new things to look at. After all San Francisco is an amazing city. Kaya loves spending time with her friends, but she needs her alone time as well. She needs time to just wander around an area she doesn't go to often.

Kaya is a very driven girl, she doesn't mind working hard to get where she wants to be. She'll take chances to reach her goal, even if to the rest of the world they don't make sense. She's loyal to her friends although is known to 'disappear.' Kaya is very independent, although also lonely at times. She has more emotions than she'll ever show. She doesn't like crying or allowing anyone to see her as weak. Kaya feels like sometimes she is playing a double role, her friends do know the real her, they just don't know where she came from. She avoids talking about her past, or her family. Very few of her friends even know that she has an older brother, or that her parents are divorced. None of them know anything about it. Sure she'll give them random stories about trips and such, but past that.... Very few know her real past, and she wants to keep it that way.

After Death:
That was all before she died. Kaya died saving 10 kids from a burning building in New York while she was visiting her parents for once. When Kaya became a white lighter she wasn't sure what to think or how to deal with it. It took her a good 6 months to get a hold of it, but she's been doing better with it. Her wild child nature never left her, she's got a big heart and her good nature goes along with now being a white lighter. Kaya's still having a hard time with balancing white light life and who she was before she died.
Background

Kaya was born and raised in the Upper East Side. She was the girl that went to the preppy high school with a uniform. Kaya was raised as a rich spoiled girl. Perhaps spoiled isn't the right way to put it, but she was very privileged in her raising. Living in a lovely penthouse with her father, mother, and older brother on the Upper East Side. Of course Kaya loved the simple life of doing what you want, getting away with what she wanted, and living life simply. However life is never as simple as it seems is it?

When Kaya was 10 she realized that her father wasn't really all that great of a man, sure he loved his kids but he had multiple mistresses leading to her parents getting a divorce when she was 15. Pathetic that all that mattered was image. Society was all about image after all. That was the first time that Kaya realized she didn't really like the way she lived her life, or how her family lived there lives. It was all fake. Real friendship didn't exist. They were merely based on looks and power. Kaya learned how the play the game extremely well by the time she reached higshcool. It was impossible for her not to know how to play the game. Not with her mother breathing down her back every day about how she needed to look one way or another. Needed to wear this dress, or that outfit. It was never about what Kaya was comfortable in. It was about what her mother wanted her to be. She was to be molded into something, that perhaps she wasn't.

High school was about blending in for Kaya. She was friends with the so called popular group but she wasn't the one that made the news, or the one that everyone knew. She was the one that was just sort of around. High school passed rather slowly for her, she wasn't sure why she even bothered with any of it. An alright student, she managed to get into NYU, although she honestly wanted to leave New York for college, she just seemed to be slightly stuck in the place. No matter how much she begged her parents to let her go to UCLA or maybe even Emerson nothing worked. She had to go to NYU, honestly her parents wanted her to go to Yale, but Kaya's grades were not going to get her a spot at Yale, not to mention she didn't really have a lot of after school activities. Sure she was smart enough perhaps, but Kaya didn't apply herself as much as she probably should have.

On her 18th birthday her parents fought about where she was going to live during college. Finally her father just up and bought her a lovely flat in Greenwhich Village. Posh enough to be acceptable to her parents friends. They weren't going to let their only daughter live in student housing, or in a place that wasn't clean and wonderful enough. Kaya however didn't really care about where she lived. She just wanted to go to school and go about life. The second she moved into the apartment Kaya barely ever talked to her parents. She didn't bother talking to them. She didn't care to talk to them.

Kaya loved University, it was easy to fall into a more normal world. She rarely told people the family she came from, she blended into a 'lower class' world. People rarely saw her apartment, and she tried to wear brands that wouldn't stand out. Kaya worked hard at looking being just one of the average people, it sounded terrible to put it that way, but that was what it was. Life was broken into classes, and she knew it.

Kaya did really well in University, she loved her classes, and it wasn't to hard to see why University was the time in life to be set free. Although Kaya did a good job keeping the world from knowing where she really came from, that isn't to say that her past didn't catch up to her from time to time. Parties she was forced to going to on the Upper East Side, shows in Paris she'd have to vanish for a week. Normally she just told people she didn't feel like going to classes, although Kaya always wanted to go to classes. Majoring in Creative Writing and Marketing she actually enjoyed her classes.

Kaya wasn't looking forward to University to end, it was a bitter sweet ending. She knew it had to come, and she knew she couldn't push it, but she couldn't stand the idea of having to go back to the life she left. One night Kaya sat down with her father to talk to him about what she wanted, and didn't want to do. Finally getting it through his head that she wasn't going to be her mother, she was her own person it seemed impossible for anything else to happen. He was kind enough to set up an allowance, although Kaya told him she didn't need it, of a large amount every month and she could live in her own life stlye for up to 3 years. At that point she was expected to find a high profile job that would honor her family.

Finding a job as a bartender in two different Irish Pubs, she had gotten to know the management while she was in University, she even managed to talk one of them into hiring her as a marketing coordinator. Basically Kaya handles all of there marketing and promotional needs. She loves the job, and she loves the life of living day by day. Although like most of her friends who live pay check to pay check, Kaya doesn't have to worry about money and sometimes forgets that she should pretend that she does.

Too many people found out where she was really from so she moved to California, San Francisco to be exact. Kaya found her self working in an Irish Pub. It wasn't more than 6 months until she was finally talked into visiting her Father in New York. She flew back on a Saturday, she wasn't positive why she agreed, but the girl agreed. She arrived in New York at 6:13 PM. She took a Cab home, a $56 cab... She didn't make it home though. The building next to her parents apartment caught fire. Kaya didn't know what got into her, but she dashed out of the cab heading straight into the building. She saved 10 kids out of the building but didn't make it out herself. She died a painful death, Kaya thought she'd been dreaming when she found herself in light. It was in that moment that she became a White Lighter.

It took her a good few months to get used to it, finally she was given charges. 2 years later she was given more. She managed to stay close to San Francisco, finally given a charge who worked at Piper Halliwell's restaurant a few days before. She took a job as a waitress at the restaurant to get closer to her young witch charge who happened to be a busboy.
